Rules for using the EECS Servers
The EECS servers are multi-user machines. That means you share their resources with other users. Actions that adversely affect other users is considered misuse of the servers.
Long running jobs (more than 10 minutes) OR CPU intensive processes must be run with "nice -19'.
For processes (like MAGIC, HSPICE, VIRTUOSO, CADENCE) that use a lot of system resources (CPU, memory, I/O), please make sure you only run one copy at a time.
Keep in mind that the consequences of not following these requests
include having your processes reniced, stopped, or killed; or your
account locked.
