Research

I graduated in December 2007 and joined Cisco Systems, Inc. in January. During my MS I worked for the EECS Dept. of the University of California, Irvine within the group of Prof. Athina Markopoulou, focusing mostly on multipath routing. Here’s a little demo of BRAID, a project that ended up being my MS thesis. In summer 2007 I have also been working with Christos Gkantsidis at Microsoft Research Cambridge for an internship.

Before moving to UCI I’ve been working (2004-2006) for the Computer Networks Dept. of the Institute for Informatics and Telematics of the Italian National Research Council (CNR) within the VICOM, MobileMAN and PERF projects. I have also been part of the technical team that started EURid, the European Registry of Internet Domain Names.

Education

I am an Electrical Engineering Master of Science graduate from the Electrical Engineering & Computer Science Dept. of the Henry Samuely School of Engineering at the University of California, Irvine. During my MS I mainly focused on digital communication and wireless systems.

I also hold a Laurea in Computer Engineering (2003) and a Master in Internet Technologies (2004) both from the University of Pisa, during which I ended up focusing on the upper layers of the Internet protocol suite.

Before college I attended four years of high school in my home town Monopoli (Italy) and school year 1997/98 in Kelbra (Germany).
